The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University Conference
On June 15, 2019, I had the opportunity to speak at the 4th Annual CSF Disorder Symposium From Canvas to Clinic- Artistic(al) Management of Cerebrospinal Fluid Disorders. This was a national medical conference, held at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
The focus of the conference is understanding how harmonizing art, science, and medicine can lead to implications on the diagnosis and management of CSF disorders as well as improving the outcome of the surgical profession.
I would be incorporating the arts to share my story, and show how the creative arts can have a positive impact in the medical world.
Along with the conference, there was an art gallery that was also held at Brown University’s Medical School. One of my art pieces was chosen and would be displayed for three months. There was thirteen people that were also chosen. There were three judges from prestigious art schools, critiquing our work. The top three art pieces that were selected received prize money.
